The course starts with a general overview of the new IHO S‐100 Universal Hydrographic Data Model Standard and IHO S‐101 ENC Product Specification. This is followed by practical hands-on exercises that: introduce basic S-101 ENC theory and concepts; outline the one-off steps to set up an existing CARIS HPD database for S-101 production; and explain the steps to create and update S-101 ENC products from S-57 features in an HPD database
