All of us at Teledyne CARIS are wishing you, your coworkers and families’ health and safety during this very difficult time.
In consideration of the current circumstances, we are pleased to announce that we are now offering comprehensive, remote BASE Editor training sessions, available for you to attend from wherever your work space is currently located.
This comprehensive training session explores the use of the CARIS BASE Editor in the processing and preparation of bathymetric datasets using the most recent version. The course uses presentations, discussions and demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises. The latest technology in the software will be covered during the course in order to familiarize participants with best practices for bathymetric compilation and cartographic product derivation techniques.
This will include working with datasets of different density, terrain model analysis and manipulations, elevation model smoothing techniques, feature creation for nautical production workflows, as well as efficient process automization using the next generation process designer!
Topics covered:
The training will be held remotely using Zoom as platform for the online meeting. Teledyne CARIS will provide the installation files, training material beforehand as well as the necessary license files.
The trainees will need to connect with their hardware, suitable to run CARIS BASE Editor. Teledyne CARIS cannot be held responsible for the quality of hardware and internet connections. A stable internet connection will be required, dual screen setup as well as a headset are strongly recommended.
In the week prior to the training, the trainer will contact the trainees for a test run to ensure the connection is working.
Anyone wanting to have a more in-depth knowledge of CARIS BASE Editor and to learn more about importing, validating, compiling, analyzing and extracting bathymetric data, as well as deriving product ready cartographic features from digital terrain models.
NOTE: A basic understanding of bathymetric/topographic data and related terminology as well as the use of computers is assumed for all course attendees. No previous experience in CARIS BASE Editor is required.
This course will be run from Monday, August 30th to Wednesday, September 1st, 10 am - 5 pm Atlantic Time (Canada).
