CARIS' popular calendar contest is back! Submissions for the 2013 calendar contest are now being accepted. CARIS is encouraging users of its software to enter their favourite CARIS imagery.
CARIS' calendar contest is now in its seventh year of production and continues to gain in popularity. The calendar contest represents a fantastic opportunity for CARIS users to showcase their geospatial datasets, maps, charts and 3-D views with the user community.
All wining images will be featured in the 2013 CARIS calendar, which is distributed to thousands of mapping and charting agencies, port authorities, survey companies and academic institutions around the world. The images will also be made available as a downloadable desktop image on the CARIS website and be posted on CARIS social media sites for thousands to view. Previous calendar images can be found on the Calendar Desktop Images page on the CARIS website.
The overall calendar contest winner will be selected by a panel of judges and receive a mounted copy of their winning image, as well as be featured in the CARIS Coastlines newsletter.
Past calendar submissions have seen a variety of CARIS Ping-to-Chart solutions being utilized, including a combination of LiDAR and bathymetry images using HIPS and SIPS and Bathy DataBASE, nautical charts using HPD and S-57 Composer, boundary limits using LOTS and web mashups using Spatial Fusion Enterprise. With the recent release of Paper Chart Composer and OSCAR-js, our first venture into open source API, there are even more opportunities to submit exceptional CARIS imagery.
The deadline for submissions is September 14, 2012. Submit your favourite CARIS imagery in the 2013 Calendar contest today!
