About the Author

Telmo Geraldes Dias is a lieutenant and hydrographic surveyor of the Portuguese Navy. He attended the Portuguese Naval Academy from 2001 to 2006 and earned a Master's Degree in Military and Naval Science. In 2014, he completed the FIG/IHO/ICA Category A Hydrography Course at the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute (IHPT). Since then he has been working in the Hydrographic Brigade of the IHPT.

About the Image

The bathymetric data was acquired with EM 2040C in the Crestuma-Lever dam on Douro river, near Entre-os-Rios, and the image was processed with CARIS HIPS and SIPS.

The survey was conducted by Instituto Hidrográfico, the Portuguese Hydrographic Office (IHPT).

The work was commissioned by the Administração dos Portos do Douro, Leixões e Viana do Castelo, SA (APDL) as part of the Douro's Inland Waterway 2020 project.
