Dubai, United Arab Emirates – November 16, 2011 — During its fifth Middle East Hydrographic User Conference, held November 13 to 16, at Le Meridian Hotel, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Unique Maritime Group (UMG), one of the world's leading integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solution providers, showcased its various tailor made solutions and products in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, a UMG client, during a field trip to the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club.
On the last day of the conference, customers of UMG experienced an outdoor session where they enjoyed a live demonstration showcasing the deployment of high tech survey equipment and the collection of marine data, under the guidance of the manufacturer and UMG's system engineers. The demo included a Kongsberg EM 3002 Multibeam system Simrad EA 400, TSS Gyro, TSS Motion Sensor and all related equipments including AADI Resource Data Collection Processing (RDCP), fixed on a boat to simulate real time multibeam survey and data collection at sea.
"As a UMG customer, we are happy to host this demonstration," said Engineer Hind Mahmoud Mahaba, Head of Coastal Monitoring and Design Unit, Costal Zone & Waterways Management Section, Environment Department of Dubai Municipality. "Unique Maritime Group has successfully implemented many systems for Dubai Municipality, on which we highly depend. Their trained engineers have custom built solutions based on our specific requirements, trained our staff and have helped maintain the proposed equipments", she continued.
Ian Huggins, UMG's General Manager said, "Listening to customers is the key to success, and that is why the Middle East Hydrographic User Conference has proven over the years to be the ideal platform to bring together all our stakeholders to exchange knowledge, address issues, and finally present new products and discuss innovative solutions to help everyone stay on top of their game."
"Also, the live demos will provide our customers with an opportunity to better understand how to optimize the performance of their products, from various manufacturers, with the correct synchronization and experience hands on operation of a complete system. From a manufacturer's point of view, it will provide their claim on the reliability and accuracy of their products, operating in high temperature environments. Finally, the demo will instill confidence with the user on the products supplied by UMG systems", he continued.
The four-day conference included a variety of product and project presentations by clients and product exhibits with multibeam demonstrations on the survey launch. Participating partners were AADI - Norway, Ashtech - France, CARIS - Netherlands, C&C Technologies - Singapore, EdgeTech - USA, Hypack - USA, Kongsberg Maritime AS - Norway, Kongsberg Maritime Ltd - UK, Kongsberg Mesotech - Canada, Kongsberg Hydroid Inc. and Teledyne TSS - UK.
