As recently as 2007 EGS had only one HIPS and SIPS license. But as EGS has expanded its operations to include new regional offices and fleet expansion, it has purchased another ten HIPS and SIPS licenses so as to offer their clients the best possible service.
EGS, an international group of companies established in 1974, is a specialist multi-disciplinary marine survey support provider, and delivers solutions to the oil and gas, telecommunications, energy and renewables, and marine infrastructure industries.
Edward Jones, Chief Surveyor of EGS Survey in Perth, Australia confirmed the advantages of HIPS and SIPS to EGS.
"With CARIS HIPS and SIPS EGS' data processors are able to display bathymetry data just minutes after acquisition; new data can be loaded quickly and viewed together with older data. HIPS and SIPS enables us to zoom into areas and see the individual soundings from multiple lines at any angle. In the 3D subset editor we can quickly and easily identify problems allowing us to make quick on-site decisions on adjustments to survey design thereby minimising vessel standby time or additional transits," he said.
HIPS and SIPS is a comprehensive hydrographic data processing solution designed to meet the requirements of the marine community. The software provides proven algorithms and latest technologies, such as integrated 3D visualization, allowing users to simultaneously process sonar bathymetry and imagery in a seamless environment. This, as demonstrated with EGS, provides streamlined efficiencies in the processing and analysis of data in support of hydrographic, engineering and many other marine sectors. The end result is that HIPS and SIPS saves valuable time and money for clients who incorporate the software into their workflows.
"It's very rewarding to see EGS continue to expand their footprint and provide their specialized services to a global community knowing that CARIS' solutions are helping them to meet the expectations of their clients," said Matt Holland, CARIS Account Manager for Asia.
