  1. non-dangerous wreck: a wreck which is not considered to be dangerous to surface navigation.
  2. dangerous wreck: a wreck which is considered to be dangerous to surface navigation.
  3. distributed remains of wreck: (foul ground) an area over which it is safe to navigate but which should be avoided for anchoring, taking the ground or ground fishing. (IHO Chart Specifications, S-4)
  4. wreck showing mast/masts: wreck of which only the mast(s) is visible at the sounding datum indicated.
  5. wreck showing any portion of hull or superstructure: wreck of which any portion of the hull or superstructure is visible at the sounding datum indicated.
