In order to improve their workflows the Mexican Navy has been working on the migration of their cartographic production from traditional desktop CARIS tools to the Hydrographic Production Database (HPD).

New ENC and paper charts have been produced with HPD from new survey sources in the areas of Seybaplaya and Laguna Verde, Veracruz. The ENCs have been validated by the IC-ENC and are now available for use.

The Mexican Navy plans to finish the migration to HPD during 2012 and aims to produce all new editions of existing ENC and paper charts from HPD going forward. They will also continue to create new charts directly in HPD as well.
