CARIS’ Edurado Infante was recently at the Chilean Hydrograhphic Service (SHOA) in Valparaiso, Chile for a three week training course. The advanced training was for SHOA’s continental shelf processors and bathymetry processors on CARIS HIPS and SIPS, Bathy DataBASE and LOTS.

SHOA has a wide range of CARIS products to process hydrographic data and develop nautical charts. Training topics over the three weeks included vessel files, Total Propagated Uncertainty (TPU), CUBE theory, sound velocity correction, the management of bathymetric survey data, and law of the sea applications.
